The Colorado Rockies have been dealing with a bit of a PR nightmare this offseason when it comes to the relationship with Nolan Arenado. Despite that, team owner Dick Monfort expects big things from the team, even amid a quiet offseason.

Monfort boldly claimed the team will win 94 games, despite barely improving the roster this winter, and his reasoning for that statement is just laughable.

Monfort's explanation includes a reference to Forrest Gump, who he calls an American hero, and some complex analytics referencing the past to come up with his win total.

He constantly uses the word "interpolate," though, we have to admit, we're not quite sure he knows what it means.

"I interpolated '07, '08 and '09 — I had an analytical staff go through and interpolate those numbers — and so in 2020, we'll win 94 games and lose 68."

The positive thing about these comments is that Monfort believes in his team and is making it clear to fans that he expects to win. He just may be glossing over the fact of why fans are upset with the way the offseason has gone.

The Rockies won 91 games in 2018, only to tread backwards and win just 71 last season. Based on Monfort's logic, the team is set up for a record season in 2020.

We'll believe it when we see it.
