Rockets Reportedly No Longer Interested in Trading for Robert Covington but Will Make Deadline Deals

The Houston Rockets made the biggest trade of the offseason, acquiring superstar Russell Westbrook in an effort to compete for a championship with the new wave of dominant L.A. teams. The Rockets still feel as though their team could use a little bit of reshaping, looking to make more deals for other NBA stars as the trade deadline approaches.

Enter Robert Covington, who started his career with the Rockets back in 2013 (now plays for the Timberwolves). His unique skillset has made him the subject of many trade rumors. However, Houston has apparently lost interest in the 29-year-old forward.

Make no mistake, the Rockets are still looking for a roster-enhancing trade. They even released fan favorite and defensive specialist Gary Clark for an extra roster spot in case a potential trade requires it.

While the Rockets are hoping a big deal will go down, it's most certainly easier said than done. And if they aren't going to go after Covington, who exactly is out there this team is so keen on bringing in? Hopefully we find out soon.
