A legendary baseball brawl took place last year on July 30. The Cincinnati Reds were being blown out by the Pittsburgh Pirates in a chippy game between two teams that just didn't like each other.

The score was 11-3 with two outs in the top of the ninth. Amir Garrett was on the mound for the Reds and began yelling at the Pirates dugout.

Then, total chaos ensued, as he charged the Pirates dugout and fought everyone in sight.

The whole scene was insane, and there is so much to unpack here. First off, let's emphasize the lack of any sort of fear inside Garrett. He was fed up with the Pirates and decided to fight his own battle.

Luckily, angrier heads prevailed, and two individuals came to support him. The first was Yasiel Puig, and the second was his manager, David Bell.

Puig had been traded to the Cleveland Indians that same night! He was not pulled from the game, and all he had to do was get through the final inning and get in a car to Cleveland. Instead, he joined in on the brawl, and could have derailed the entire deal that involved three teams. Bell being on the field was a problem as well, because he had been ejected earlier in the game. He emerged to fight Pirates manager Clint Hurdle to add even more insanity to the situation.

Fighting never does much good, technically, yet Garrett provided fans with a memorable moment and was only suspended for eight games. He would likely say it was worth it.
