Report About Robert Kraft Not Signing Antonio Brown if He Knew About Lawsuit is a Farce

Antonio Brown has kicked up plenty of controversy this offseason that primarily centered around him being a diva (or idiot RE: cryogenic foot injury), but things took a disturbing turn when it was revealed just days after he signed with the New England Patriots that he was being accused of sexual assault and rape by a former trainer.

The news shocked fans everywhere, and both the NFL and the Patriots were adamant that they weren't aware of the lawsuit prior to his signing.

Reports have even surfaced that Patriots owner Robert Kraft wouldn't have signed Brown had he known of the lawsuit in the first place, but it's pretty easy to see that if that was the case, he would do something about it now too.

If Kraft and the Patriots were truly firm in their morals, the moment they found out about the lawsuit, they would have shown him the door. What's the difference between not signing someone because of an allegation and cutting them when you do find out about it?

It's especially easy to spot the lie considering that Brown is not only still with the team, but he's actually suiting up to play against the Miami Dolphins for Week 2.

The Patriots know exactly what they're doing. It appears they would have kept Brown in any situation, lawsuit or otherwise. Kraft, Bill Belichick and the team simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to snag one of the best wide receivers in the NFL for pennies on the dollar.

All they're doing is covering themselves on the grounds of ignorance. They're not really committed to holding up some moral standard. They just want that to be the perception of the team.
