Several big names on the Washington Redskins roster were in attendance for the team's minicamp, including veterans Adrian Peterson and Josh Norman. However, one player that did not participate was left tackle Trent Williams.

Williams is in pursuit of a new contract and seems motivated to get what he feels he has earned. He didn't show up to the team's practice facility Tuesday as he seeks a new deal with the team.

It is important to remember that this minicamp isn't optional, but mandatory. As outlined in their contracts, each player is obligated to be in Ashburn for the minicamp, though Williams, who is unhappy with his current deal, chose not to attend.

Williams feels that the five-year, $68 million deal he signed in 2015 doesn't adequately represent his worth to the Redskins franchise. The lineman is a seven-time NFL Pro-Bowler and was Second Team All-Pro in 2015. He is a difference maker on the field, and wants to be paid like one.

While his contract was considered incredibly lucrative when he signed a few years back, the ever-growing market in the NFL has resulted in him feeling undervalued compared to his positional counterparts.

Whether the Redskins will fork over the money remains to be seen, as the organization weighs its options, but don't expect to see Williams at camp until contract discussions start developing in his favor.
