Redskins' Late-Round Pick Jimmy Moreland is Dominating at OTAs

The Washington Redskins may have found themselves a gem in the form of a late round pick, cornerback Jimmy Moreland.

The Redskins took Moreland 227th overall in the NFL draft out of James Madison University, clearly seeing something in the defensive back who had been criticized by scouts because of his small stature. Moreland is repaying the favor so far in OTAs, as the young DB has been impressing the team, reportedly having great success against first-round quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

Moreland's ball hawking abilities should not come as a surprise to Redskins fans, the corner racked up an astounding 18 interceptions during his college career at JMU, six of which went for touchdowns.

The doubts about Moreland have always been because of his size, he stands at just 5'10" and 174 pounds, despite him being named a consensus FCS All-American in 2018. Moreland also came into the draft with some character issues as well, he was dismissed by the team after he was charged with petty larceny in 2016.

So far, Moreland is proving all of the doubters wrong, and showing that he could end up being one of the biggest steals from this year's draft. Hopefully Moreland will get the reps on the field to prove himself during the season.
