Redskins Fans Thinking Ronald Darby Addition is 'Revenge' on Philly Are Kidding Themselves

The Philadelphia Eagles added to their secondary by subtracting, as they chose not to pursue free agent cornerback Ronald Darby while adding Darius Slay via a trade.

Darby will stay in the NFC East, however, as he inked a one-year contract with the Washington Redskins.

Redskins hoping for "revenge" by signing Darby shouldn't take a look at his tape, as the ugly truth will be revealed.

A former star at Florida State, Darby looked ready to break out during his first two years with the Buffalo Bills, but his career has gone downhill since then. Injuries have limited him to just 29 games in three years in Philadelphia. On the field, he allowed six touchdowns, 16 yards per completion, and a 116.8 passer rating on throws targeting him last season. This is by no means a game changer for Washington.

A Maryland Native who grew up in Oxon Hill, Darby joins DC's Sean Davis and Baltimore's Kendall Fuller in a revamped secondary group that hails predominantly from the DMV area.

If Ron Rivera really thinks that he is going to turn Darby into Darrell Green in Washington, he might need to get his head examined. Most Eagles fans probably aren't kicking themselves after the team let him go.
