The Washington Redskins' top option at cornerback wants out.

According to John Keim of ESPN, Quinton Dunbar has reached out to the Redskins' front office notifying them that he either wants to be traded or released.

According to Keim, Dunbar had been in talks with the Redskins about a contract extension previous to the hire of new head coach Ron Rivera. He apparently has not spoken with anyone in the organization since Rivera's hiring.

In 2019, Dunbar led the Redskins in interceptions with four, but is still guaranteed no money from his contract in 2020. In response to him not making the Pro Bowl despite feeling as though he is a top cornerback in the NFL, he wants to secure a big contract this offseason.

According to Pro Football Focus, Dunbar is a top cornerback, and is deserving of the money he will be trying to seek in free agency.

The Redskins are currently a dumpster fire, so for a talent like Dunbar who wants to win, jumping ship was the obvious decision.
