Reds Roster Quite Possibly Has the Creepiest Players' Weekend Nicknames Ever

Players' Weekend is coming up later this month, and on Tuesday, MLB teams revealed the nicknames on the back of their jerseys. Plenty of them are pretty underwhelming and not the least bit comical, but the Cincinnati Reds' names are pretty... ehhh, unique.

Well, that's one way to describe them, anyway.

Rookie Josh VanMeter is "Meat Sauce?" I don't think I'd even think of embracing that. That seems like a handle Yasiel Puig may have slapped on him as a type of rookie hazing. (Boy, wouldn't it have been great if he was still on this team?)

In a similar vein, Brian O'Grady is "Beef." Because he's what's for dinner? Unclear. Sheesh. And it's hard to say that's any worse than "Bob" or "My Little Ones," which might reference Jose Peraza's children, but it might also reference something of the full-frontal variety.

Of course, the nickname that steals the show is first baseman Joey Votto, who just went with the word "Who," a heavyhanded and totally unnecessary reference to the "Who's on First" bit that Abbott and Costello originated in the 1930's.

Oh, and instead of the Reds, they'll be the Whites.

We shouldn't the surprised by this, as the Reds are one of the more eccentric teams in baseball this season. Naturally, they have odd nicknames for Players' Weekend.
