The Boston Red Sox have tried a variety of different options at the back-end of their bullpen, and each has provided unstable results.

Well, in order to try and find their guy to close out games, the Sox are turning to hard-throwing starter Nathan Eovaldi. The 29-year-old has been on the IL since April 17, after undergoing surgery to remove loose bodies in his elbow.

It'll be interesting to see how the Eovaldi experiment works out for the Red Sox, as he showed off his stuff during their World Series run last year. Sox fans will get the pleasure of seeing the radar gun light up in the bottom of the ninth, as Eovaldi is capable of reaching triple-digits with his fastball.

In a corresponding move, Ryan Weber will be sent down to Triple-A.

Eovaldi wrapped up a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday, striking out three in one inning of work. The Red Sox will hope he's ready, as the only reliable reliever in the bullpen has been Brandon Workman.
