Red Sox Starter Eduardo Rodriguez Reportedly Hurt Knee Falling Down During Bullpen Session This Week
By Adam Weinrib

The first injury of Red Sox Spring Training is a bit of an embarrassing one.
And, frankly, we wish we'd heard about this earlier, but so goes the secrecy of Spring Training discourse.
Per interim Sox manager Ron Roenicke, Eduardo Rodriguez has been limited this week after hurting his left knee in a bullpen session. In short, he fell down. The team will test him this weekend to get a better idea of his availability moving forward.

Ron Roenicke said he’s feeling better. Team will test him tomorrow with trackman to see if his effort is what it needs to be to continue his progression for the season.
There's been improvement, but not enough. Needless to say, a preseason test to determine if Rodriguez's "effort" is sufficient sounds damning for the full season, but we won't argue with Sox leadership.
No, the soreness isn't in the same knee that's already been surgically repaired. But no, that's also not a good thing -- now, both knees are somewhat balky.
Eduardo Rodriguez’s injured knee is not the same one he had surgery on.

The good news is that he didn’t re-injure the same knee. The bad news is that he now has two knees that could be sensitive to injuries. https://t.co/kXcpLD0duI
Rodriguez was also recently defeated by the Sox in arbitration, a process that robbed him of $600,000, a strangely frugal gesture from a team that's been full of them this offseason.

Hopefully, Boston's able to determine E-Rod's on the proper track this week after a bit of a scare.
