When Alex Cora was relieved of his duties in January due to the Houston Astros sign-stealing investigation, the Red Sox decided to name bench coach Ron Roenicke the new manager of the club.

After Cora was suspended one year by the MLB for his role in the scandal, there has been speculation that Cora could return to the Red Sox in 2021. However, Roenicke is still the skipper and with everything going on, he shouldn't need to answer questions about Cora anymore.

The Red Sox offseason has been a rollercoaster. Following Cora's firing, the organization went on to trade Mookie Betts and David Price. Shortly after, the MLB season was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. Then, Boston announced ace Chris Sale would undergo Tommy John surgery, ruling him out for the entire 2020 season. Roenicke has more than enough topics to answer questions on, yet reporters continue to pester him about his job security.

The Red Sox front office has already put their faith in Roenicke, taking away his interim tag after he was cleared of all wrongdoing in the Red Sox investigation. They have also made it clear a Cora reunion is unlikely.

There's no reason for reporters to ask him about the topic anymore. Roenicke is the manager in Boston, period.
