Could the veteran New Jersey native be returning to Fenway next season?

The Boston Red Sox are reportedly interested in re-signing right-handed pitcher Rick Porcello. He's been in Boston the past five years. Could the team be ready to make it six?

The Red Sox are in a desperate need of pitching help. However, is Porcello the answer fans have been looking for?

Despite being only 30 years old, Porcello posted the worst ERA of his career last season with a 5.52 ERA in 33 starts.

Desperate times do call for desperate measures and seeing that the Red Sox are working on a limited budget, they might be able to get Porcello for pretty cheap. They're of course not the only team interested in his services, though.

Those pesky New York Mets. Could the team from Flushing end up convincing Porcello to head to the NL East? Stay tuned, Red Sox fans.
