Lamar Jackson Claims Michael Vick is a First Ballot Hall of Famer and He's 100% Wrong
By Michael Luciano

Lamar Jackson, the first quarterback who wasn't former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick to run for 1,000 yards in a season, is clearly a fan of the former dynamic dual-threat, even going so far as to declare Vick is one of the best QBs ever to play the game.
In a Twitter Q&A, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback and 2019 NFL MVP stated that questioning if Vick should make it into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot "can't be a real question," implying Jackson believes a guy with fewer touchdown passes in his career than Lynn Dickey should make it to Canton.

Go look up Lynn Dickey. Take your time.
Yes, Vick was one of the most exciting players to watch in the history of the game regardless of position, and Jackson's style clearly pays homage to Vick's blueprint -- but no stat you could possibly look at suggest that Vick clearly belongs in Canton.
Vick never was named an All-Pro, never went to a Super Bowl, and never won MVP. With a lower career passer rating than Ryan Fitzpatrick, fewer career passing yards than Derek Carr, and fewer passing touchdowns than Matt Schaub, to say nothing of the dogfighting troubles that would likely prevent Hall of Fame voters from approving his election regardless, to say Vick has even a remote shot at Canton is being charitable.
0 Super Bowls, 0 MVPS, 0 All-Pro selections, only 4 Pro Bowls, and he has a career passer rating of 80. He ain’t getting in on any ballot.

The Hall of Very Good has hundreds of more players "inducted" into it than the Hall of Fame, and Vick certainly seems like a HOFVG-level player. He was electric, dynamic, and jaw-dropping, but his resume is nowhere close to Hall of Fame worthy, let alone the first ballot.
Lamar Jackson ending up in Canton, on the other hand, would surprise exactly no one.
