Ravens' Earl Thomas Plans to Appeal Fine for Dangerous Hit on Steelers QB Mason Rudolph
By Parker White

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens rivalry is very physical, so an injury taking place isn't a surprise. However, you never want to see someone knocked out and removed from the game, which happened to Steelers quarterback Mason Randolph after a dangerous hit by Ravens safety Earl Thomas.
In the name of player safety, the NFL has decided to fine Thomas $21,000, which the veteran defender is appealing.

Thomas should be happy he wasn't suspended for that hit.
The NFL is certainly inconsistent with punishment across the board, but this helmet-to-helmet hit was as clear as day. I mean, he knocked the guy out.
On top of that, we are talking about a quarterback here. The league's rules are even more strict when it comes to questionable hits on signal callers considering they're defenseless much of the time.
Earl Thomas will appeal his $21,000 fine by the NFL for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Mason Rudolph. Good luck with that. #Steelers

Whether Thomas meant to go helmet-to-helmet or not, this hit was illegal and seriously injured someone. Appealing this fine is almost an insult to Rudolph. Just take the $21,000 hit on your $55 million contract, man.
