Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow Expected to Miss Time After Suffering Scary Injury

It was a bad day to be an Oakland Raiders fan. Not only did they lose 34-3 to the bottom-feeding New York Jets, but they also may have lost one of their brightest young playmakers in Hunter Renfrow.
The wideout punctured a lung and broke a rib in the loss and could miss significant time.
#Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow broke a rib and punctured his lung in Sunday’s loss to the #Jets, sources say. Just a rookie, Renfrow has quickly developed into a key weapon for QB Derek Carr. It’s unclear at this point how long he’ll be out.

Renfrow has been an ace in both the slot and on the boundary for the Raiders, compiling 36 receptions, 396 receiving yards and a pair of touchdown grabs. He has been a big factor in the team's turnaround this year, making his biggest impact on short-yardage downs.
Whether or not Renfrow returns this season, he will almost certainly be hindered by this injury for the rest of the year. Derek Carr may have just lost a reliable weapon as the Raiders continue to fight for a playoff spot.
