Raiders Sign Former 'Last Chance U' Star Dakota Allen from Rams Practice Squad
By Daniel Marcillo

Dakota Allen first made a name for himself as a featured player in the Netflix series "Last Chance U". Well, after getting back into Division-I ball with Texas Tech, Allen joined the Rams practice squad.
And now he's getting closer to making his NFL debut, as Allen was picked up by the Raiders.

He originally signed a four-year deal for just over $2.5 million dollars and a signing bonus just under $75,000. Allen was a solid player at Texas Tech where he had 249 tackles, four interceptions and two sacks over two seasons.
He joins the depleted Raiders linebacker corps which has Vontaze Burfict, Nick Morrow and Marquel Lee all out with injuries, so there's opportunity for him to take the field in Week 4 against the Colts.

Allen showed promise in the preseason which is why the Rams wanted to keep him around on their practice squad.
Now it's time for him to shine under the tutelage of Jon Gruden as he goes from one Raiders squad to another.
