The Oakland Raiders selected Alabama running back Josh Jacobs in the first round of April's NFL Draft with the ambition that he would be a significant and immediate contributor to Jon Gruden's offense in 2019.

In a surprising turn of events, however, Jacobs still remains the only unsigned rookie from the Raiders' class, and per Vic Tafur of The Athletic, discussions between both sides are at a stand-still and there's growing concern that the former Crimson Tide stud will not be present for training camp, which begins on July 23.

To Tafur's understanding, Jacobs and the Raiders are failing to meet eye-to-eye on his signing bonus. And unfortunately, he could not reach general manager Mike Mayock to elaborate on the predicament.

The 21-year-old is coming off of a junior campaign under Nick Saban during which he rushed for 640 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 5.3 yards per carry while grabbing 20 passes for 247 yards an additional three scores.

There's aren't eye-popping numbers by any stretch of the imagination and most pundits believed that Oakland reached by selecting Jacobs at No. 24 overall.

But, the Raiders are desperate for help in their backfield that currently features Doug Martin, Jalen Richard, and DeAndre Washington.

They need Jacobs, but in the meantime, Gruden will have to roll with his unalluring three-man committee from 2018.
