Raiders DE Arden Key Expected to Miss Rest of the Season With a Broken Foot
By Jerry Trotta

The Oakland Raiders pulled out an impressive win on Sunday, defeating Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions by a final score of 31-24 to improve to 4-4 on the year.
Unfortunately for Jon Gruden, that victory came at a cost, as several important players were sent for MRIs after the game.
One of those players was defensive end Arden Key, whom Gruden feared suffered a broken foot. Well, those fears were proved legitimate on Tuesday morning, as NFL insider Ian Rapoport disclosed Key is expected to miss the remainder of the season, though he will seek a second opinion.
#Raiders DE Arden Key suffered a broken foot on Sunday and is expected to be out for the season, source said. Key, who had a sack in each of the last two games, is getting a second opinion from Dr. Robert Anderson to confirm the initial view.

As Rapoport notes, Key had recorded a sack in each of the last two games, giving him two on the season -- which is good enough to rank second on the Raiders -- who have tallied a lowly 15 sacks through eight games.
The loss of Key would be a significant blow to a depleted Oakland pass rush. He had yet to start a game in 2019, but Gruden was likely to up his playing time in Week 10, as he is more than desperate to muster some sort of pass rush, and the LSU product was the hottest of his defensive line bunch across the last two games.
DE Arden Key does have a broken foot, as the Raiders feared. Bummer for Arden. He was making strides.

Looks like Daryl Worley (strained Achiiles) is going to be okay. MRI for Trent Brown (knee) didn’t show any significant damage. Should be questionable. We’ll see.
We'll provide further updates on Key's second opinion if it contrasts this report, but all signs point to the 23-year-old DL watching the Raiders' remaining games from the sidelines.
