Projected 2020 Packers Offense is Not Scary at All

The Green Bay Packers shocked the NFL world by drafting quarterback Jordan Love in the first round. If the goal is to win another Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers, using a first-round pick on a quarterback does nothing to help the future Hall of Famer.

The only offensive skill player taken in a 36-wideout deep draft was Boston College running back A.J. Dillon. The Packers did not draft a wide receiver, and even took three offensive linemen in a row at one point. The ability to stock up on skill players was there, and the front office took a different route.

That sets up the Packers offense to be rather barren in 2020.

It is easy to begin to feel bad for Rodgers. Don't forget that the Packers were in the NFC Championship Game a few months ago. A few extra weapons for Rodgers could have made the team a top contender once again.

Instead, GM Brian Gutekunst decided to pass on what was widely considered one of the deepest wide receiver classes in recent memory.

There is not one player that stands out as a legitimate threat to opposing defenses, aside from Rodgers. A simple double-team of Davante Adams leaves Rodgers without his top target, and it will be up to some unproven guys (the CFL's Reggie Begelton?!) to show up and prove the doubters wrong. However, drafting Love may have shed light on a rebuild of sorts in place in Green Bay.
