Baker Mayfield is making his mark as a cultural icon on and off of the football field.
The Cleveland Browns quarterback and his wife, Emily Wilkinson, have signed an endorsement deal with Progressive. Ads featuring the couple are set to run on Sept. 5 during the first game of the 2019 NFL season.

Mayfield and his wife are an ideal fit for the job. He's a total character who isn't afraid of the spotlight, and the chemistry between the two will no doubt be the perfect way to brand the insurance being peddled.
Of course he shouldn't let this distract him too much from his duties as the Browns' starting quarterback. There are high expectations in Cleveland for the first time in a long time, especially for the offense, and the onus will fall on Mayfield to lead them to glory.
He'll no doubt have to improve upon his 3,725-yard campaign from last year, in which he amassed a 6-7 record as a starter while throwing 27 touchdowns against 14 interceptions.

And with new weapons on offense like Odell Beckham Jr., he'll have the tools to do it.
But at least for now, Mayfield and his wife are doing a strong job of solidifying themselves as brand ambassadors away from football.
