Pro Football Focus Absurdly Excludes Pat Mahomes From NFL's Top 5 QB Rankings Through Week 3
By Chris Pyo

This list might make NFL fans everywhere want to wash their eyes out with soap.
PFF released its quarterback rankings through Week 3 of the NFL season, and there were a few surprises among the highest ranks. But perhaps the most shocking finding from their rankings was Pat Mahomes' placement, as the reigning MVP was placed outside of the Top 5.

The top spot went to Tom Brady, which is hard to argue after three dominant and undefeated weeks, but surely Mahomes should have at least ranked second.
His placement would be excusable if there were actually five quarterbacks who've put up better performances than Mahomes, but the Chiefs' star has been objectively better this season than the likes of Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson, who come in at third and fifth on the list.
Wentz over Mahomes?

Right......Did you miss those interceptions in Atlanta? The first one was just a ridiculous flail. Did you miss the first half of the Redskins game?
But you see what you wanna see
You've crowned him, so whatever he does(or doesn't do), its rationalized
In fact, Mahomes has statistically been the best quarterback in the NFL this season by a long shot. He leads all quarterbacks in passing yards (1,195), yards per attempt (10.5), yards per game (398.3), touchdown passes (10) and passer rating (134.9). He's second in QBR (91.0) and hasn't thrown a single interception thus far. Still, somehow, those insane figures didn't warrant a Top 5 spot.
While every quarterback on that list is having a sensational start to the season, it's almost impossible to suggest they're doing things better than Mahomes. He looks on pace to win a second consecutive MVP, and to suggest that there's five guys who have had better starts to the year is nothing short of a complete joke.
