3 Players Who Definitely Won't Be on the Seahawks Roster Next Year

To say that the Seattle Seahawks have their work cut out for them in terms of addressing the status of forthcoming free agents would be an understatement. After all, a whopping 26 players are slated to hit the open market once free agency begins on March 18.

With that in mind, let's shed some light on a few players that likely won't be a part of the organization next season.

3. OL Al Woods

In the simplest of terms, Seattle needs to get significantly younger on the offensive line. Jarran Reed is a tremendous piece to build behind. We expect that the Hawks would prefer rolling the dice on a 26-year-old Germain Ifedi than a 32-year-old (soon to be 33) Al Woods, who was inconsistent as a one-year rental in 2019.

2. WR David Moore

Just because you can get loose for a deep reception every now and then doesn't mean you deserve a spot on a particular roster. That's exactly the case with David Moore, who hauled in a lowly 17 catches this season. The Josh Gordon experiment didn't work out, so expect Seattle to dabble in free agency to find a viable No. 3 option behind the likes of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Thus, Moore will not return.

1. Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah

Following Ziggy Ansah's breakout 2015 campaign with Detroit in which he compiled 14.5 sacks, everybody just assumed that he'd be a forced to be reckoned with for the remainder of his career. However, he's since proven to be woefully inconsistent and staggeringly prone to injury. In 2019 -- his first with Seattle -- the BYU product appeared in just 11 games (one start), logging 2.5 sacks and 18 combined tackles. The Seahawks would be wise to part ways with Ansah, especially if they intend on extending Jadeveon Clowney.
