College baseball season is under way, as teams around the country are playing out their non-conference schedules. Alabama State completed a four-game sweep of Toledo this weekend, and each game was decided by one run, but this particular sequence at home plate was the series' ultimate highlight.

With the Hornets looking to score a few runs on an extra-base hit, the Rockets nearly pulled off a perfect relay from the outfield to nail down the runner at the plate, and the rest is history.

Toledo's catcher collected the ball, but never applied the tag on the lead Alabama State base-runner who overran home plate. With the second base-runner rounding third base, the Toledo catcher found himself in a game of tag with the two Alabama State runners having caught up to one another. Eventually the catcher was able to record a double-play out of the confusing sequence, but not before a benches-clearing brawl.

The umpire chose to let this one play itself out, and that decision backfired immediately and blew up in his face.
