PK Subban Hilariously Takes Credit for Jack Hughes Game-Winner in Preseason Opener

Well...welcome to the NHL, young man!

After No. 1 overall pick Jack Hughes scored in overtime to win the New Jersey Devils' preseason opener against the Boston Bruins, teammate PK Subban may have taken just a little bit of credit for the goal.

The first-year Devils defenseman is already mentoring players while just barely taking liberties with his own teachings. Subban, whom the Nashville Predators traded this summer, is obviously kidding, but he is also trying to get the most out of his teammates. Asking Hughes if he is just a "one-goal guy" is a great motivational tactic and shows how committed he is to both the team and the game itself.

Though the Devils will rely primarily on Subban and former Hart Trophy Winner Taylor Hall, the former Predator and Montreal Canadien is giving high praise to New Jersey's younger stars, including Hughes.

Hughes scored 48 points in just 24 games last season as a member of the U.S. National Under-18 Team. The year before that, he scored 15 points in nine games with the Under-17 Team and 39 points in 18 games with the Under-18 team. Safe to say he knows how to find the back of the net.
