It's going to be exceedingly difficult to safely play Major League Baseball in 2020, which was made all the more obvious this week when the league made their initial safety proposal to the players.

No spitting, no licking, and lots of fresh baseballs will make for a very bizarre, seedless season. Luckily, Pirates starter Trevor Williams took to Twitter on Sunday with a very helpful one-photo tutorial for how things can be done correctly this year.

Yes, this is a very serious situation, and Williams' tongue is placed firmly in his cheek these days, instead of in his fingertips. But he makes a valid point -- the fabric of the game is going to change in subtle little ways like this.

Williams isn't new to comedy, either -- he's sort of a jokester in the 'Burgh, almost full time.

If the game comes back in 2020, hopefully the league's funniest players don't socially distance themselves from their Twitter accounts.
