The Philadelphia Phillies are primed to implement a new-look outfield for the coming 2020 season.

According to general manager Matt Klentak, the team expects to be good to go with five outfielders heading into 2020, and that list that doesn’t include Odubel Herrera, with Adam Haseley the likely candidate for the full-time center fielder job, according to the GM.

This comes as no surprise given the circumstances surrounding Herrera. This past season, Herrera arrested for assaulting his then-girlfriend in Atlantic City. He was subsequently suspended without pay for the remainder of the season by the MLB on July 5.

However, with the arrival of talents like Andrew McCutchen and Bryce Harper in 2019, Herrera’s playing time was expected to decrease anyway. Jay Bruce's presence doesn't help that much either.

Given Haseley is a much cheaper, younger and baggage-less option at the moment and filled in admirably after Herrera's suspension, it's no surprise Klentak made these comments.
