The Tampa Bay Buccaneers instantly became Super Bowl contenders the moment Tom Brady announced his decision to join the team. Brady's arrival is the obvious reason for the hype. However, the Bucs still have plenty of other talent on the team that shined in 2019, much more so than the collection of weapons TB12 left in New England.

Wide receiver Chris Godwin dominated opposing defenses last year, as he finished with 1,333 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in only 14 games. He had more receptions, yards, and touchdowns than Mike Evans, and all that was good enough to be rated by Pro Football Focus as the best receiver in football.

Anyone initially confused by Brady's decision can look to Godwin and realize this is what Brady wanted all along. The New England Patriots failed to surround him with top receiver talent last year, so he found himself a team with TWO of the best receivers in the game, including one who likely isn't top of mind. Godwin is also 24 years old, so he should be around for as long as Brady stays before retirement.

The young receiver has seen increases in his receptions, yards, and touchdown totals in each of his three career seasons, and that was all with an erratic Jameis Winston at quarterback. Playing with Brady could separate Godwin as the obvious top receiver in football.
