Pete Alonso Begs Mets Fans to Support Team During Home Stretch

The New York Mets are 7-3 in their last 10 games, and Pete Alonso wants to keep the fire going in front of a raucous Citi Field crowd.

The rookie slugger took to Twitter to send a message to Mets fans, imploring them to come out and support the team at home.

As the first baseman mentions, the Mets have played over two additional weeks' worth of road games compared to home, and it's understandable that he and his team pine for a warm welcome in Flushing, particularly after swooping in for All-Star starter Marcus Stroman.

The Mets are 28-20 at home and well below .500 on the road, but are in the bottom five for attendance in the NL at 11th. An average of just below 31,000 fans attend each home game.

Pete Alonso has been on a tear this year, setting the Mets record for home runs before the All-Star break and winning the Home Run Derby in Cleveland. The fans in Queens have a stud on their hands; there's every reason to go out and support their team.
