There's nothing more toxic than digital trash talk between the country's largest and most obnoxious college football fanbases, but this takes on a whole new form of stupid.

The Patriot-News, a regional newspaper in central Pennsylvania, published an article Monday ranking all 65 Power 5 schools based on total revenue from the 2018 college football season. Each ranking came with a little blurb, no more than a setence or two, describing the program's general history and current situation. When it came to No. 12 University of Tennessee, however, author David Jones had a little bit extra to say.

Jones was not only critical of the Volunteers going 5-7 in 2018 and underperforming as a money-making program of their stature, he also mocked Tennessee's personnel and fans. Reporting from the heart of Big Ten country not far from Penn State, Jones also made a snarky comment about the school's hiring of head coach Jeremy Pruitt over Greg Schiano.

Any UT fan can see right through Jones' transparent remarks and be prepared to fire back at his Penn State bias. You can always count on Vols Twitter to come to the rescue and make someone regret their anti-Tennessee stance.

There's always been a heated clash between the Big Ten and SEC's most established football programs and their fanbases, but this takes it to an entirely new level.
