The defending champions will play host to one of the most intriguing young team's in the NBA when the Toronto Raptors take on the New Orleans Pelicans to open up the season.

The Pelicans will be without first overall pick Zion Williamson for a while as he's undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus and will miss six-to-eight weeks. The season opener will mark the Pelicans debuts of Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, and JJ Redick, among others.
The Pelicans finished the preseason 5-0 after defeating the New York Knicks 117-116 at Madison Square Garden. Hart and Nickeil Alexander-Walker tied for the team lead with 17 points apiece, while five other players finished in double figures.

The Raptors come off their first NBA Championship in franchise history, though things may be more difficult for the team following the departure of Kawhi Leonard.
The Raptors will raise their championship banner in front of a raucous crowd and a young opponent as they prepare for the 82-game grind.
