If there's one thing that everyone is in consensus on when it comes to the Ohio State and Michigan football rivalry, it's that Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has dropped the ball when up against the Wolverines' fiercest competitors.

Giving up and waving the white flag is not something many people would associate with Jim Harbaugh, but longtime college football analyst Paul Finebaum begs to differ.

Finebaum has always been one of Harbaugh's harshest critics, often stating how overrated he thinks the Michigan coach is, and now he thinks that Harbaugh is admitting defeat to the Buckeyes.

When he appeared on WJOX to talk college football, Finebaum was asked about his thoughts on Michigan and if he believed they would ever get past OSU and reach the College Football Playoff under Harbaugh.

"Michigan has waved the white flag." Finebaum said. "Michigan has surrendered and has simply admitted we're not as good as Ohio State."

During his tenure with the Wolverines, Harbaugh has seen some great success, essentially carrying the program out of the murky depths of college football after the Brady Hoke era. He's recorded three 10-win seasons in four years with the Wolverines, but he has yet to beat OSU, going 0-4 when pitted up with the Buckeyes.

It's a hurdle that Harbaugh obviously has to get over if he wants to earn the respect of Michigan fans and college football analysts around the country. If he continues to come up short against Ohio State, he'll likely never see the College Football Playoff, something Michigan fans desperately want to experience.

We'll see if the fifth time's the charm this season when the two Big Ten sides square off this year.
