Just when you thought Josh Gordon turned the proverbial corner and was ready to shine with Tom Brady and the Patriots, the former All-Pro wideout announced in December that he would be stepping away from the game to focus on his mental health.

Shortly thereafter, it was announced Gordon had been suspended indefinitely for violating the terms of his initial reinstatement.

Well, fast forward to Aug. 3 and Howard Balzer (first to report) has revealed the former Pro-Bowler is looking for another chance and has officially filed for reinstatement.

Between the Browns and Patriots, Gordon appeared in 12 games this past season, which stood as his longest stint across one campaign since he played in 14 contests with Cleveland back in 2013.

Flash began 2018 with the Browns before being traded to New England, where he went on to compile 41 receptions for 737 yards and 4 touchdowns.

There are generally no timelines associated with these sort of narratives, but it remains to be seen if commissioner Roger Goodell will let Gordon come back.

If Goodell does in fact opt to do so, we all know that Bill Belichick and Co. would welcome the troubled pass-catcher back with open arms.
