Patriots Still Won During Their Bye Week Because of Course They Did
By Chris Pyo

Even if there weren't able to watch their team play football this week, New England Patriots fans can sit back knowing that somehow, the Patriots still won during their bye week.
The Patriots' best competition for the AFC East title is currently the Buffalo Bills, who came into this week looking to beat the Cleveland Browns and come within a game of the Pats in the standings. Instead, they lost 19-16, meaning that they dropped another game (and have to shrug off losing to the Browns, who are literally the Browns).

The Bills are now a 6-3 team, while the Patriots are 8-1 and increased their lead in the standings by another full game, because of course the Bills chose to lose their rhythm against an inferior Browns team and failed to capitalize on a prime opportunity to dethrone the Pats.
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens (7-2) are now one game behind the New England Patriots (8-1) for the top seed in the AFC.

Baltimore holds the head-to-head tiebreaker if the two teams end the regular season with the same records.
However, the Patriots will continue to have strong competition for the No. 1 seed in the AFC, as the Baltimore Ravens are the only team to have handed the Patriots a loss this season, and continue to stay one game behind the Patriots.
But outside of Baltimore, Pats fans can sleep comfortably knowing the Chiefs gagged on the road at Tennessee, and their hated rival Colts choked at home against Miami. Miami. The Dolphins of Miami. Mercy.
Either way, Patriots fans have got to be satisfied knowing that unless some disastrous happens, the chances of their team heading to the postseason remain incredibly high, especially if Gronk comes back for another Super Bowl run.
