The Green Bay Packers trading up to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft was eerily similar to when the Packers used a first-round pick on Aaron Rodgers in 2005 despite the presence of Brett Favre -- except Rodgers has four years left on his contract.

In an interview with Rich Eisen, Favre claimed that Aaron Rodgers has to be thinking about playing elsewhere in the near future, as the organization has made it clear that they think Love is the guy for the next decade and beyond.

So, could Rodgers make the shock of all shocks moves and join... wait for it... the New England Patriots? Well, the Packers did just trade up for a quarterback, so anything is possible, right?

Think about it. In these strange post-Tom Brady days, this would be the ultimate power move for Bill Belichick and Co.

For Packers fans thinking that Rodgers wouldn't cross this line if it meant he could be guaranteed a starting job, they need look no further than Favre going to the rival Minnesota Vikings. If that could happen, then Rodgers' future really could be somewhere outside Green Bay.

Rodgers has put up with a lot of crap over the years as it relates to the Packers not giving him enough help, but drafting Love might be the final straw that forces AR12 to demand a trade out of Green Bay one day.

With that in mind, New England should be ready with a trade offer in its back pocket.
