Patriots Final 53-Man Roster
By Sean Facey

In typical Patriots fashion, this offseason featured a slew of budget moves along with a handful of interesting splash acquisitions.
But not everybody can stay with the team. Here's how things panned out for the New England Patriots' 53-man roster.

The Patriots made a handful of surprise moves on offense. They cut quarterback Brian Hoyer, instead placing their faith in fourth-round draft choice Jarrett Stidham, who played admirably in the preseason.
They also released wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Braxton Berrios in a rather shocking combination of moves. Gunner Olszewski, on the other hand, made the roster after transitioning from cornerback to wide receiver.

Center David Andrews, who was sidelined with bloodclots in his lungs late in the preseason, was placed on injured reserve. Otherwise, the offensive line is shaping up to look just as it did in 2019.
Perhaps the most notable move of the day for the Patriots on defense was their trade sending cornerback Keion Crossen to the Texans. The massive amount of depth in the secondary is ultimately what necessitated the move.

The Patriots also parted ways with a pair of linebackers in Scooby Wright and Terez Hall, again due to the established depth they already have at that position.
All in all, it seems to be another year in which Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the Patriots are set to dominate the league. The majority of the roster is comprised of established veterans and returning stars as they set out to defend their Super Bowl title.
