Patriots Fans Should Be Infuriated the Broncos Defeated Texans After Shredding Houston's Defense

OK, maybe it's time to worry about the Patriots' offense. You may remember that last Sunday, the defending Super Bowl champions could only muster 22 points (most of which came during garbage time) against the Houston Texans defense, in an utterly embarrassing loss. So...that means the Texans D must be elite, right?

Well this week, that very same Texans defense gave up 38 points (including 31 in the first half) to the Denver Broncos offense, led by rookie QB Drew Lock.

Lock was a highly-touted prospect in the 2019 draft, and an underrated QB who set SEC records at Missouri. However, his performance Sunday was nothing short of extraordinary.

What does this say about Brady and the Patriots offense? Could they really be worse than the Lock-led Broncos? Was last week's dismal performance just an aberration? Sure, it could just be an exaggeration, as the Texans were surely more hyped to face the reigning Super Bowl champions in a nationally-televised game than the lowly Broncos.

Perhaps this performance by Lock and Co. is the kick-in-the-butt that the Pats need, as they now see that they were bested by a very vulnerable defensive unit last week. Although, knowing Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, they were likely motivated to begin with.
