It Really Sounds Like Bill Belichick Isn't Against Coaching Into His 70s
By Andy Loughmiller

Most NFL fans can't wait for New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick to retire and stop terrorizing the rest of the league with his winning ways. If you are somebody who falls into that category, we have some bad news for you.
During his weekly appearance on WEEI, The 67-year-old mastermind said that coaching into his 70s is not off the table.

Apologies to the fans of the other 31 NFL teams, but Belichick sounds like he is going to be around for at least the next few seasons.
Belichick said in the past that he didn't intend on coaching into his 70s, but as he approaches the milestone age, it looks like he may be having a change of heart.
Bill Belichick said in ‘09 documentary that he wouldn’t coach into his 70s. He was asked about that by @OMFonWEEI today.

“When I said it, maybe I didn’t know what 70 felt like,” the 67-year-old Belichick said. “So I’m not really sure if that’s an accurate statement today or not”
"When I said it, maybe I didn't know what 70 felt like," Belichick said via WEEI. "So I'm not really sure if that's an accurate statement today or not."
Given his endless success over the past decade, it's completely reasonable to see why Belichick is now second-guessing his claim that he wouldn't coach into his 70s.
At least 42-year-old Tom Brady is nearing the end of his career, right? Wrong. Brady's trainer recently revealed that the Patriots' signal caller believes he could play until he reaches the age of 47.

Sorry to rain on the parade of all of the up-and-coming franchises in the league, but neither Belichick nor Brady appear to be walking away from the game any time soon.
