Eli Manning has struggled out of the gate in 2019, as if fans weren't expecting as much. And just two weeks into the regular season, the Giants are already facing questions about the future at quarterback.

Well, Pat Shurmur gave a pretty half-baked response to the question on Monday saying, "We're gonna talk about everything moving forward. I think that's fair at this point. To this point, what we've done hasn't been good enough."

Manning has completed 56-of-99 pass attempts to start the year, throwing for two touchdowns and as many interceptions. The Giants are 0-2 after being blown out by the Cowboys and thrashed on their home turf by the Bills.

With Daniel Jones, who impressed mightily in the preseason, waiting in the wings, it was only a matter of time until reporters questioned when the first-round pick would be called upon.

Based on Shurmur's response, it could be at any point.

Shurmur's vague response to the question suggests the Giants are truly open to giving Jones a shot, but aren't quite committed to moving on from Manning just yet. After all, it's only been two games, and the Bills have one of the league's most formidable defenses.

Still, Manning's play has been anything but encouraging, and if the Giants are serious about building around Jones in the future, getting him some meaningful reps as a rookie could prove incredibly valuable.
