Among the top storylines of the 2020 NFL Draft was the Green Bay Packers' shocking decision to trade up in the first round to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love at No. 26 overall.

The consensus criticism lies in the fact that general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur opted to prepare for the future rather than upgrade a roster led by superstar Aaron Rodgers that, by all accounts, is ready to win now. If you need a reminder, Green Bay was one win away from the Super Bowl last season.

Well, the latest Draft fallout suggests that the Packers were dead set on drafting the young gunslinger, and were willing to go to great lengths to do so.

You know that Green Bay was desperate to nab Love if they were willing to give the Minnesota Vikings, among their greatest rivals, more capital in a draft where they already held a boatload of picks. That is bananas, and it really makes you wonder what the Packers would have given up if they weren't able to strike a deal with the Miami Dolphins.

Fans in Wisconsin had better hope that the Packers struck gold in Love. The franchise is putting an awful lot of faith in a quarterback who threw for 20 touchdowns compared to 17 interceptions as a senior in the Mountain West Conference.
