Packers signing Whitney Mercilus is a wise move

It hasn't taken long for veteran pass-rusher Whitney Mercilus to find a new home. He was just released by the Texans after a strong career with the AFC South team. Now, the defensive end can pack his bags for the NFC North.
On Tuesday, it's been reported by multiple insiders that Mercilus has agreed to a new deal with the Green Bay Packers.
The #Packers are expected to sign former #Texans pass-rusher Whitney Mercilus, as @AaronWilson_NFL said. Another in-season defensive addition for Green Bay after adding Jaylon Smith earlier this month. Front office has been aggressive.

This is a smart decision for both parties. Green Bay has bolstered its defense by adding Mercilus, while the veteran playmaker now joins a team who could be in the Super Bowl hunt this winter. Oh, Aaron Rodgers is probably thrilled with this decision as well.
