When you think of sneaker and apparel deals in professional sports, the first one that often comes to mind is basketball and the NBA. With shoes being such a focal point for basketball players, becoming an ambassador for a brand and creating your own signature product is truly a rite of passage.

However, this is not to downplay what it means for an NFL to cash in with a major endorsement contract. Enter Davante Adams, the star wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, was a prized asset of Nike ever since his rookie year. Now, Adams has taken the next step in his endorsement and has officially signed with Jordan Brand, a goal he says he's chased since his childhood.

With notable football superstars such as Tyrann Mathieu, Bobby Wagner, and Randy Moss signed under the brand, Adams will become the latest NFL player to make his mark while wearing the Jumpman logo. Adams will have full creative influence over his products as well, and shoe fanatics will certainly be on the lookout for what Adams wears in his first game as an Air Jordan athlete.

When playing alongside one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time in Aaron Rodgers, it's easy to get overshadowed. However, signing a deal with one of the most recognizable brands in the world is a big step forward for Davante Adams.
