The Green Bay Packers were hopeful they'd be able to re-sign linebacker Blake Martinez, but based on the linebacker's contract demands, that may not be a possibility.

The 26 year old is set for unrestricted free agency this offseason and any team looking to bring him aboard will have to meet his demands. According to the Milwaukee Sentinel, Martinez is seeking at least $10 million per year on the open market.

Unfortunately, it's not anticipated the Packers are willing to pay the hefty price tag Martinez has established for himself. Fans in Green Bay will surely be disappointed if he does end up walking in free agency, considering he's cemented himself as one of the league's finest linebackers.

In 2019, Martinez recorded his third-straight season with at least 140 tackles, racking up 155, including 97 solos. He also logged 3.0 sacks, five tackles for loss and an interception. Over the past three years, Martinez has logged 443 tackles, the most in football across that span.

The Packers could look to replace Martinez with former Cleveland Browns linebacker Joe Schobert, who is also expected to hit the open market when the new league year gets underway in March.
