The Green Bay Packers offense has been bitten by the injury bug this season, as they've been without top wide receiver Davante Adams for much of the year. However, quarterback Aaron Rodgers will have another weapon at his disposal after this latest roster move.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Packers have activated rookie tight end Jace Sternberger off injured reserve.

The Packers selected the 22-year-old tight end in the third round of 2019 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M. He began his college career in Kansas before transferring to A&M, and over his collegiate career he hauled in 49 receptions for 837 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Sternberger began the year on IR with an injured ankle. He's been practicing the last three weeks but is not yet fully acclimated into Green Bay's offense, a process which could take a while.

Since Green Bay had an open roster spot, nobody needed to be cut and the rookie tight end is active for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
