The Raptors are riding a franchise record 12 game winning streak, the last coming against the Pacers. They are led by their guard duo of Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet, and their big man trio Serge Ibaka, Pascal Siakam, and Marc Gasol, with multiple solid bench players.

The Raptors must have been feeling confident with their chances for a second consecutive NBA title, as the trade deadline went by and they did not make a single move. The Pacers, led by many young stars and the return of Oladipo, did not feel the need to make a deadline deal either.

While Oladipo has not returned to form yet, soon he will progress and should be a top NBA player again by the end of the season, giving the Pacers life and energy for next season.

With the teams surviving the trade deadline, this game will be the start of the second half of the season, which will expose the "pretenders" from the contenders.
