With the loss of one Bogdan Bogdanovic to the Utah Jazz, the Indiana Pacers had some work to do in free agency. They've answered the call quite literally.

Indiana has forged a sign-and-trade deal with the Bucks for restricted free agent Malcolm Brogdon, locking up the young point guard long-term. This represents a real loss for Milwaukee, but it's a savvy move for the organization to get something for the former Virginia Cavalier rather than seeing him walk for nothing.

That's a haul for a player who felt likely to leave the Bucks for a Central Division rival. Nonetheless, the Pacers needed an assurance that Milwaukee wouldn't match their offer sheet for Brogdon, and this was the way to get a deal done.

Brogdon averaged 15.6 points-per-game in his third season with the Bucks, and proved to be a major cog alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton, shooting over 40% from three, 50% from the field overall, and 90% from the free throw line. Now in Milwaukee, he'll take on an even bigger responsibility in the backcourt alongside Victor Oladipo.

As the dominoes fall, Ricky Rubio, who had been paired with Indiana just a few days ago, is heading to Phoenix. The Pacers have also nabbed Jeremy Lamb to play alongside Brogdon in their suddenly electric backcourt.

Reminder: we're only just getting started. Try to catch your breath, folks.
