Oklahoma Sooners QB Tanner Mordecai Won't Transfer After All

The Oklahoma Sooners need a new quarterback in 2020 with Jalen Hurts set to enter the NFL Draft.
Spencer Rattler relieved Hurts late in the Peach Bowl over Tanner Mordecai and that may have signaled Rattler was the man to beat in 2020. That could have caused Mordecai to transfer and seek a new opportunity, but he is reportedly returning to fight for that starting job.

Mordecai has thrown a total of 30 passes in two seasons with the program in limited action. Meanwhile, the freshman Rattler was the one to come in at the end of the Peach Bowl.

That decision may have just been Lincoln Riley getting a freshman some experience in what was a terrible blowout loss. Mordecai either agreed with that thought or was told he is going to get a shot to start.
Either way, Oklahoma avoids losing a quarterback and potentially facing disaster next season with so much inexperience at the position.
