With the start of college football season just a month away, more power rankings are starting to emerge. In one of the NCAA's most dominant football conferences, the Big 12, Oklahoma has once again earned the top spot heading into the 2019 season.

The Sooners are the current champions of the Big 12 after narrowly beating out the Texas Longhorns. Oklahoma now holds the edge heading into 2019, according to Big 12 media members.

This preseason ranking doesn't come as much of surprise, with Oklahoma coming off a Big 12 championship win and a trip to the college football playoff.

Hopefully for the Sooners, Jalen Hurts will emerge as a star for the program similar to both Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield. Hurts is looking for a fresh start with Oklahoma after spending his past three years with the Alabama Crimson Tide and being overshadowed by Tua Tagovailoa.

The looming matchup of Sam Ehlinger vs Jalen Hurts is just as exciting, if not more, than the previous matchup of Ehlinger and Kyler Murray.

Oklahoma and Texas run the Big 12, just as it should be.
