Oilers Reportedly a Potential Fit for Corey Perry if Bought Out by Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks finished third to last in the Western Conference this season, and were only kept in games by their star goaltender.

The Ducks roster doesn't seem to be getting any younger, even though they should be looking to move on from some veterans.

One veteran player whose days in Anaheim seem to be coming to an end is Corey Perry, who could be out of town as early as this month.

Perry is a prime candidate to get bought out by the Ducks before they head into free agency, but the 34-year-old sniper probably wouldn't call it a career if that were to happen. So where would he go if he is not in Anaheim?

One potential fit would be the Edmonton Oilers, especially if they could get him on a cheap short-term deal and pair him with Connor McDavid.

The Oilers are going to be busy this summer, seeing as they are wasting McDavid's talents by always finishing near the bottom of the standings. Their new GM Ken Holland will be very active and could start even sooner than anyone expected if Perry were bought out.

Bottom line is that the Oilers need to make big moves, and Perry could be the decision to get the ball rolling.
