Undrafted Ohio State Wide Receivers Choosing to Join Giants and Be Dwayne Haskins' Rival is Hilarious

The Washington Redskins entered the 2020 league year without much depth at the wide receiver position behind Terry McLaurin, other than selecting Antonio Golden-Gandy in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Dwayne Haskins needs weapons to succeed next season, and there happened to be plenty of his and McLaurin's former Ohio State Buckeyes teammates available as undrafted free agents. Surely they'd do what it took to come to DC to give their former quarterback a helping hand, right?

Oh, irony can be a funny thing. Buckeye wideouts Binjimen Victor and Austin Mack spurned Haskins and the Redskins in favor of playing for the NFC East rival New York Giants!

Imagine how Haskins must feel knowing that his buddies have chosen to catch passes from Daniel Jones. That has to sting considering how the two young quarterbacks will be tied at the hip for the rest of their careers after being drafted so close to one another a year ago.

During the pre-draft process in 2019, Haskins expressed his desire to play for the Giants. They were his favorite team growing up, and he relished the thought of being the successor to face of the franchise, Eli Manning. Even though many projected Haskins to be New York's pick, Big Blue shocked the world by taking Jones instead.

Putting that rivalry aside, the signings of Mack and Victor made sense for the Giants. They had a relatively strong draft this year but didn't use a single selection on a wideout, so they opted to make additions via post-draft free agency. Mack possesses quality route-running abilities and can make tightly contested catches, while the 6-4 Victor is a big play specialist, as evidenced by his performance in the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Let's be honest, Haskins is ecstatic that his former targets found jobs in the NFL. But you'd best believe he wants to stick it to his buddies on the field.
